Upload requests
Let anyone send you videos through a link, without an account, and review them before they are kept.
Upload requests let anyone send you videos through a link, without an account: guest clips, raw footage from a client, customer testimonials or crew footage. Available on Professional, Team, and Lifetime plans.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Videos to watch | Videos are processed so you can watch, share and track them like your own uploads. Takes MP4, MOV and WebM. |
| Original files | Video files are stored exactly as sent, for raw footage and lossless masters, and you download them. Also takes formats the player can't handle, like MXF, MTS, BRAW and R3D. Nothing is encoded unless you choose Make playable. |
| Both | Senders choose per file: watch online, or original file. Formats the player can't handle always go in as original files. |
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Review everything before accepting it | On by default. Nothing is encoded or added to your library until you approve it. |
| Password | Senders enter it before they can upload. |
| One-time link | The link closes once the first person has finished sending. They can send several files in that visit. |
| Expires | The link stops accepting uploads after this date. |
| Limits | Max videos in total, max videos per person, max size per video and max total size. Leave a field empty for no limit. Each file can be up to 10 GB. |
| Notifications | "Email me when someone starts sending" and "Email me when they've finished" (one summary per sender, not one per file). Add up to 10 more addresses in "Also notify". |
Instead of sharing one link with everyone, you can give each person their own.
To go through a batch quickly, open Review and mark each item with the keyboard: A to approve, R to reject, D to download (together with approve or reject), ← / → to move between items. Press Enter to apply everything you marked at once.
Original files are never encoded. You download them under their original filename. If a stored MP4, MOV or WebM file should become a normal video after all, choose Make playable (approve it first if review is on). The file isn't copied, so it doesn't use extra storage.
If someone sends something they shouldn't, use Block on their upload. They can no longer upload to any of your links, and they only see a general message that the link can't accept uploads from them.
For something worse than unwanted (illegal content, spam, harassment), use Report on the upload and pick a reason. It's removed from your account straight away and kept apart for our review, and the sender can't upload to your links any more. If we confirm the report, they can't upload to anyone's links on vitelnk.
Upload links fire upload_request.started when someone starts sending and upload_request.completed when they have finished, once per sender. Turn them on per endpoint in the webhook settings; the payloads are on the Webhooks page.
